We had pancakes with honey and lemon juice in Ms Hayes' Class on Pancake Tuesday, to see what effect temperature has on our sense of taste.
Method: every boy ate one in hot pancake and one cold, with the same toppings. They answered questions afterwards.
Data: almost everyone thought the hot pancake tasted better. Most boys though the lemon juice had a more bitter taste on the cold pancake, and that the hot one was sweeter.
Conclusion: bitter flavours are stronger in cold food. Try it at home with coffee or citrus fruits.
