Making a volcano for science week
You will need: Brown clay, vinegar, red food dye, baking soda.
Method
- Make a hill with the clay.
- Make a hole at the top of the volcano.
- Put the 5 spoonfuls of baking soda into the volcano.
- Add 6 to 7 mls of red food dye.
- Pour vinegar into the top of the volcano
- Watch the chemical reaction
Important: Clean up afterwards
Other experiments we all did this week, included showing that oil and water don’t mix by making a lava lamp, showing that hot water dissolves the colour off of Skittles faster than cold water.
